第三屆 2024 PALAFANG 花蓮跳浪藝術節「星球爆裂觀測站」
縫補天災與日常 蘊生萬物共活的嶄新能量

由花蓮縣文化局主辦，第三屆「PALAFANG 花蓮跳浪藝術節」由馬國鳳、龔卓軍、Nakaw Putun、王玉萍共同策展。以「星球爆裂觀測站」為主題，展出 11 組藝術家的全新創作，並串連 8 個在地衛星站，帶來一系列展覽與體驗活動。
本屆主視覺源自花蓮米崙地震工作站於 0403 大地震時偵測到的光纖訊號。這些色彩斑斕的編織地紋，顯示了地殼爆裂的躁動。策展團隊直視花蓮獨特的地理性與「震央日常」，探討地震對環境與人心的重創，以及餘震中難以消除的恐懼。
地震是生態系的巨大事件。當人們找回生活步調，崩落山壁長出新植被，人與環境重新創造和諧的可能。藝術家們從過去、現在、未來的大時空視角，運用部落神話、數位模型、場所攝影、療癒劇場等媒介，銜接受創的環境與人心。
本屆首度與地震科學跨域合作，邀請臺灣地震科學中心首席科學家馬國鳳老師共同策展，結合科學觀測與藝術感性。衛星站則透過故事採集與手作工坊，讓星球的爆裂得到精神地理上的療癒與縫補。
關於 PALAFANG 花蓮跳浪藝術節 「Palafang」在阿美語意為「來做客、去拜訪」；「跳浪」既是地名也是一種生活方式。兩者皆有「回家」之意。自 2021 年起，藝術節以「創造你與花蓮的新關係」為核心，串連旅人與當地人的情感，共創當代美學新浪潮。
The 3rd 2024 PALAFANG Hualien Tiaolang Art Festival: Planet Crack Observatory
Mending Disasters and Daily Life, Cultivating New Energy for Co-existence

Presented by the Hualien County Cultural Affairs Bureau, the 3rd "PALAFANG Hualien Tiaolang Art Festival" is curated by Ma Kuo-Fong, Gong Jow-Jiun, Nakaw Putun, and Wang Yu-Ping. Under the theme "Planet Crack Observatory," the festival features new works by 11 groups of artists and connects with 8 local satellite stations.
The main visual is derived from fiber-optic signals captured by the Milun Seismic Station during the 0403 earthquake. These vibrant, woven patterns reveal the restlessness of a rupturing crust. The curatorial team confronts Hualien's unique geography and the "daily life at the epicenter," exploring the impact of earthquakes on the landscape and the lingering fears in the human heart.
An earthquake is a massive event for the entire ecosystem. As people reclaim their rhythm and new vegetation grows on collapsed cliffs, possibilities for harmony between humanity and the environment emerge. From a vast perspective of past, present, and future, artists use tribal myths, digital models, site photography, and therapeutic theater to bridge the gap between wounded environments and human hearts.
For the first time, the festival collaborates with seismic science, inviting Chief Scientist Ma Kuo-Fong as a co-curator to blend scientific observation with artistic sensibility. Satellite stations further facilitate spiritual healing through storytelling and workshops, mending the "cracks" of the planet through a geography of the spirit.
About PALAFANG Hualien Tiaolang Art Festival In the Amis language, "Palafang" means "to visit." "Tiaolang" (jumping waves) is both a place name and a traditional way of life on the East Coast, where people timed the tides to leap across coastal rocks. Both terms embody the essence of "coming home." Since 2021, the festival has focused on "creating a new relationship with Hualien," connecting the emotions of travelers and locals through a new wave of contemporary aesthetics.
