Collage Animation: A Visual Rumble
What is Collage Animation?
Simply put, it’s about throwing things together that "don’t belong." The word Collage comes from the French word for "glue." We use imagination as our adhesive, sticking together old photos, fabric scraps, or even fallen leaves picked up from the street to construct an entirely new world.
The God’s Eye View
We play with Top-down (Rostrum) photography. On a flat surface, paper, plants, and fibers are layered to create depth. This isn't just making an animation; it’s conducting a visual symphony right on our tabletop.
From "Shadow Play" to "The Great Mash-up"
In the early days, we used backlit techniques to create a moody, shadow-puppet vibe. Today, we’re all about "Hybrid Experiments"—mixing semi-flat paper sculptures with real-world objects and live-action scenes. It’s a beautiful clash between 2D and 3D that sparks a unique, tactile warmth.
